6 Reasons Community Pools Are The Best

Our community pool at Brunswick Crossing has made a huge splash this summer. From our 6-lane competition pool to the Floating Snake and tumblers, kids and adults alike have enjoyed taking a swim in one of our latest amenities.

While we all know a community pool is great for cooling off on a hot day, why else is it simply the best? Check out a few of Ryan Homes at Brunswick Crossing’s reasons to dip your toes in this summer:

It’s good exercise. Swimming is one of the only exercises that give you a full body workout without working up a sweat – literally. It targets the core, arms, legs, glutes, and back. The low-impact activity also works on flexibility, balance, endurance, and muscle strengthening, thanks to the resistance of the water.

According to WebMD, swimming is a good workout for everyone. If you’re pregnant or arthritic, the water’s buoyancy takes stress off joints. It’s also a good addition to workouts for those who have diabetes and/or high cholesterol because it promotes weight loss without inducing high blood pressure.

It gives you a reason to go outside. When school ends, most kids tend to dedicate their free time to social media, television, junk food, and sleeping. It’s a tale as old as time.

However, having a community pool puts a nice twist in the summertime story. Because it’s one of the hottest tickets in the neighborhood, everyone who's anyone is there, which makes the fear of missing out (or FOMO as millennials abbreviate it) very real. It also gives kids a constructive outdoor activity that beats drawing with sidewalk chalk.

It’s an opportunity to make new friends. Time to put down the electronics and go play. Help your child make new friends by asking if they’d like to share a snack or toy, or by encouraging them to include others in their play.

Our community pool includes an interactive beach entry spray pad, 7 beach bubblers, 11 interactive sprayers, a 3-armed tumble bucket, a single pipe fall feature, an open-racer slide, and kiddie area. With so many features to choose from, your kid and their new friend will never get bored.

It’s perfect for family time. What better way to do family bonding than with a trip to the community pool? You don’t have to leave the neighborhood, pay extra for cool activites, or worry about your children wandering off.

Your family can have lunch in the shade, play a quick game of Marco Polo, or read poolside in a lounge chair. No matter how you choose to spend your day, our pool provides a great way to share quality time together before school starts.

It’s close to home. Many parents know how zonked their kids get after a full day of summer adventure, and most kids can attest that car seats don’t make the best beds. Thankfully, community pools offer a nearby adventure, so you can put your tired kid in their own bed after a long day in the sun.

It increases the value of your home. Aside from being a central location for family fun, a community pool increases the value of your home. Just ask your realtor. One of the biggest benefits to HOA-regulated communities is that they keep the neighborhood looking top-notch, but when it comes to what each home is worth, the community pool works in everyone’s favor.

Brunswick Crossing offers one of the best pools in Frederick County, and we could list many more reasons as to why it’s great. From the additional pool house to the fan-favorite Lil Squirt Whale, you don’t want to miss out.
